Croatia's island-speckled coastline is indisputably its main attraction. Set against sparkling waters with an almost jewel-like intensity in shades of emerald and sapphire.
There are over twelve hundred islands in Croatia, and only fifty of them are inhabited. If balmy days and sapphire blue waters are part of your fantasy then a 15 minute boat from Rovinj to the Island of St Andrew is part of the dream. Mediterranean gardens, miles of promenades and beaches, a pretty marina, a few beach bars and restaurants is the reason it's so peaceful; its never too crowded because except for people staying in the hotel Istra, the only people who come to spend the day on the island, are the few who come with boats.

There are over twelve hundred islands in Croatia, and almost fifty of them are inhabited. If balmy days and sapphire blue waters are part of your fantasy then a 15 minute boat from Rovinj to the Island of St Andrew is part of the dream. Spend today either exploring our private island at leisure, relaxing on the beaches or taking the ferry to Rovinj, famous for the St Euphemia Cathedral, the highest church tower in Istria. Rovinj was originally an island too, but 250 years ago the narrow channel which separated it from the mainland was filled in. Rovinj is extremely pretty with numerous cafés and restaurants, galleries and an active fishing port and worth the effort if we can bear to drag ourselves away from our resort island!
B, DDay 5
This morning we head to the picturesque town of Fazana, a real vacation highlight. This former fishing village, has a breathtakingly beautiful center, a pretty little harbor, colorful townhouses and amazing restaurants. We return early after to Rovinj to enjoy free time or to board the ferry back to St. Andrews.
B, DDay 6
Today we will visit the elegant coastal resort of Opatija. We can stroll along its 12km promenade lined with impressive villas and pretty gardens and wander through the historic centre brimming with chic shops, Viennese style coffee houses, bars and restaurants.
