Galway - The most Irish Town in Ireland. It is the pot of gold at the end of the Gaelic rainbow, flaunting weaving cobbled lanes and a riot of reds and yellows and blues and greens that run on forever!
Galway is one of the brightest and most intriguing jewels of the West of Ireland. It marks the halfway point on the Wild Atlantic Way and is the only city on the entire 2500km route.
The city is wild and bohemian, and at the same time full of culture, artistry, exceptional food and music. As well as being a popular seaside destination with long sandy beaches, Galway is also a thriving and cosmopolitan city centre. It is always a joy to explore with its wonderful cobbled streets, colourful shop facades, and its offbeat café/bar culture.

Day 1
We depart local area early morning and travel to Holyhead. An afternoon crossing to Dublin to arrive at our hotel late afternoon/early evening. Enjoy Dinner in the Hotel Restaurant.
DDay 2
A leisurely start to the day before arriving at the Irish National Stud and Gardens. The farm produces elite champion racehorses thanks to the mineral-rich local limestone soil that builds strong bones.Visitors can see magnificent stallions, mares, and playful newborn foals in the green paddocks as well as famous retired racing stars like Hurricane Fly and Faugheen. Expert guides share stories about the farm's rich history and famous equine residents. The Japanese Gardens are considered the finest of their kind in Europe. Time to visit the Gardens and enjoy Lunch before continuing to the Rine Hotel.
B, DDay 3
A hearty breakfast we board the Killimer Ferry for a memorable 20 minute journey across the estuary linking the Banner County of Clare to the Kingdom of Kerry. A lovely experience sailing across the majestic Shannon Estuary. And if you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of the dolphins. We continue to Listowel, an unspoilt town in the heart of North Kerry, often referred to as the 'Literary Capital of Ireland'. With its individual look, and many unique shops it is an ideal stop for lunch. This afternoon we visit Foynes Flying Boat and Maritime Museum. Explore Foynes' role in early passenger flights across the Atlantic Ocean and the legendary flying boats that came and went went carrying celebrities, royalty, rich and famous and desperate refugees alike.
The origins of the 'Irish Coffee' was born at Foynes, when the Chef was asked many years ago to provide something to warm the weary passengers, delayed on a transatlantic flight. We include an Irish Coffee - can't leave without sampling one of ourselves.
Day 4
Today we visit the vibrant and colourful Galway City, European Capital of Culture for 2020. Here brightly painted pubs heave with live music, restaurants and cafes offer front row seats on the sidewalks whilst narrow cobbled winding streets lure the visitor to explore this engaging City.
B, DDay 5
It's time to get up close to nature today, as we head to the dramatic landscape of the Burren. This pale grey stone, ribboned with crags and crevices spreads like mosaics as far as the horizon. Whilst the rugged coastline of the Wild Atlantic Way takes us to the Cliffs of Moher, perhaps Ireland's most dramatically impressive natural attraction. Walkways lead to viewing platforms - the vista extends from the puffin-peppered Great Sea stack to the Gaelic-speaking Aran Islands.
B, DDay 6
Sadly this morning, we bid farewell to Co. Clare. We dip into the riverside town of Athlone with its beguiling mix of ancient history, quirky shops and warm welcome for a morning coffee before reaching the Port of Dublin and our afternoon ferry home.
