Day 1
We make our way from local pickup points to arrive late morning into the elegant spa town of Harrogate. Such is it's grand architecure, stylish independent shops located in the Montpellier Quarter, delightful restaurants and Tea-Rooms, not forgetting 'Betty's' - it oozes quintessential English charm.
We check into the Swan Hotel in the centre of Harrogate mid-afternoon. Famously linked to the disappearance of Agatha Christie when after an 11 day search in 1926 she was finally discovered in Harrogate.
Tonight we enjoy our Murder Mystery Event - 'Murder and Sparkling Wine'.It’s 1932 and Lord Jolyon Jape is hosting his annual party at home but there’s an unexpected guest, a Bulgarian ballet dancer who is not at all what he seems and there’s a body in the library! Dress code: 1930’s black tie.
Day 2
This morning enjoy a hearty leisurely breakast before we head to York. A late morning arrival allows us to enjoy the day and to explore this compact walled city. The list of museums is endless, plus its fabulous Minster, wealth of independent shops and cafes/restaurants. We depart York late afternoon to travel back to home.

Situated in the heart of Harrogate, this 18thC coaching inn is the perfect location to explore this elegant spa town. Once the retreat of Agatha Christie, it is surrounded by lawns and gardens. The Old Swan was home to Agatha Christie during her disappearance in 1926, and has since been used as a film set for the 1979 film, Agatha. Its modern rooms offer TV, Hairdryer, Iron and Tea/Coffee Facilities. The Swan Lounge and Bar are the perfect place to relax, whilst the Wedgewood Restaurant takes you back to another era.
